Organic Cotton
Organic cotton is cotton from certified organic farming — grown without synthetic pesticides or genetically modified plants.
Why it matters
Organic farming uses less water, protects soils, and safeguards farmer health. For the final quality of the fabric, organic sourcing itself matters less than processing — high-grade organic cotton feels almost identical to conventional in the hand.
Typical certifications: GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) covers both fiber cultivation and downstream processing.
An organic label doesn’t automatically make a shirt high quality: GSM, yarn grade and construction still decide.
