Reactive Dyeing
Reactive dyeing is a dye process in which the dye forms a chemical bond with the cotton fiber.
Why it matters
The strong bond lets color penetrate deep into the fiber — the color depth looks rich and, when processed correctly, wash-fastness is high. Reactive dyeing is the standard method for quality cotton gym wear.
Upsides: strong, clean colors, durable against washing and abrasion; particularly good for deep blacks, muted and intense hues.
Limits: the process is water-intensive and needs to be run responsibly — quality manufacturers pay attention to wastewater treatment and chemistry standards.
