Loopback (Loopback Jersey)
Loopback is a jersey fabric with a smooth outside and an inside made of uncut loops.
Why it matters
Loopback is the classic base for premium sweatshirts and lighter hoodies. The loops trap warmth, keep the fabric stable and give it a structured, absorbent character — lighter than brushed sweat but warmer than classic t-shirt jersey.
Difference to french terry: in practice the terms are often used interchangeably — technically loopback refers more to the construction (looped back), french terry to the classical French variant of it.
At moderate GSM (~280–360) loopback feels great for training and everyday wear; very heavy versions lean more into streetwear.
